QCI Mission
Quad Cities Interfaith (QCI) is a community of people living out our faith and values to collectively transform our society and bring about justice and human dignity locally and regionally. QCI exists to form organizations that empower ordinary people to effectively participate in the political, environmental, social and economic decisions affecting their lives.
What is Quad Cities Interfaith?
Quad Cities Interfaith (QCI) is a non profit organization of congregations and community groups that have come together to build local leadership and address community issues in the Quad Cities region of Illinois and Iowa. QCI is a community of people living out our faith and values to collectively transform our society and bring about justice and human dignity locally and regionally. QCI works to improve the quality of life in our region by developing leadership in congregations and other institutions, so as to introduce our values into public dialogue and speak with a strong, unified voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

Health Care Truths & Myths Forum is a Success Posted by admin
(2009/10/22)
|
| QCI's Health Care: Truths & Myths Forum that was held earlier this month turned out to be very successful. We had a turnout of over 30 people and there were also a few local news paper reporters. Each of the four panelists that participated, Rabbi Henry Karp, Dr. Keith Soko, Dr. Alta Price, and Dr. Lisa Killinger, addressed a common myth about the proposed health care reform legislation. After each panelist spoke, the audience members were encouraged to ask questions about health care reform.
The event led to an insightful and very peaceful discussion of the need for health care reform and how we, as a community of faith, support the passing of a public option so that all of our brothers and sisters can have access to affordable and adequate health care. |

Creating A More Just Society
Quad Cities Interfaith works with local congregations and community organizations on issues that they care about. QCI strengthens congregations, develops local leadership and works to affect positive change in our community. QCI works to create strong congregations and strong communities through:
- Intentional and intensive relationship-building
- Developing and involving lay leadership
- Effectively impacting the public area
Regardless of the specific issues addressed -- immigration, predatory lending, education, economic development, youth leadership development, health care -- the goal is to use the gifts of our people and the resources of our faith to rebuild community and shape a society that is more respectful of the life, dignity and rights of each person.

The City of Davenport's $100,000 Weed & Seed Grant... Posted by admin
(2010/2/18)
|
| Â
The Weed and Seed Grant is a federal grant that was awarded to Davenport by the U.S. Department of Justice in the fall of 2009. The purpose of this grant is to greatly improve a specific area in Davenport. The target area of this project is River Drive to Locust Street and Farnam to Division Street. This is a two part project. The first part is to “weed out” the inappropriate activities using law enforcement and community policing. The second part of the project is to “plant the seeds” to improve the lives of the residents by implementing neighborhood restoration and prevention, intervention and treatment.
Quad Cities Interfaith is a proud partner in Davenport's Weed and Seed Project and our own Loxi Hopkins is spearheading the Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment Program Committee that is developing and implementing a Youth Leadership Development Training Program for young people within the targeted area.
